Hello, cupcake-lover!

Are you interested in volunteering at the upcoming CupcakeCampNZ? We need local cupcake-lovers for the following positions:

~ Set-up Crew

~ Check-in Crew (helping bakers get set-up when they arrive, 30 minutes before the event starts)

~ Greeting/donation-taking Crew (talking to everyone who comes through the door and asking for voluntary donations)

~ Cupcake Bouncers (keeping people from eating cupcakes in the staging room, & only letting bakers and people wanting to take photographs in)

~ Cupcake Carriers (taking cupcakes from the staging area to the eating area when they’re scheduled, & taking back empty platters)

~ Clean-up Crew

Hello, cupcake-lover!

Local cupcake queen, Tamara Jane, is running two cupcake design courses in Wellington so you can learn to bake cupcakes that taste as good, & look as beautiful, as the ones you can buy at her store, Tempt, in the Old Bank Arcade on Lambton Quay.

“This class consists of 3 evening sessions that work through decoration making, unique recipes so you take away not only skills - but also some great tasting finished products. Numbers are limited, so book early for these upcoming classes.”

Unfortunately, the March course has already started, but there is a second course running next month if you’re interested in learning the art of cupcake design.

Dates: 14th, 21st and 28th April
Time: 6.00pm - 8.00pm
Price: $165.00 (includes all ingredients)

Both of these events were super successful &, as you can see from the photos, they set the bar pretty high when it comes to enthusiasm & creativity. But, as always, I think Wellington is more than up for the challenge!

This one is too good not to share. Johnny Cupcakes are having a kick-ass bake sale, with selected mens & womens t-shirts down to US$19.99 each! That’s almost 50% off! There’s almost twenty styles on sale too, so there’s plenty of cupcakey goodness to choose from.

Unfortunately it’s not included in the bake sale, but I was lucky enough to pick up one of the infamous “Make Cupcakes Not War” tees from the Johnny Cupcakes store on Melrose Ave when I was in Los Angeles last September. It’s a treasured item in my ever-growing t-shirt collection though, so maybe one of these will find the same special place in yours.

Welcome to our new website, thanks for stopping by.

We’re still in the super early stages of organising the very first CupcakeCamp in New Zealand, so I’m afraid there’s not a whole lot to show or tell you at this point in time. Sorry!

However, I can promise you that the date, time & venue for the first CupcakeCampNZ will be announced here in the very near future! It will likely take place on either a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, & at a venue somewhere in central Wellington. Exciting, huh?
